2009 07 27 Thank you!

I just realized I am getting posts on here from loyal readers and I wish to THANK YOU for posting your get well wishes! I am new to this type of blog...

I will be back on StormCarib.com soon come!!!

I also appreciate those who have emailed me with great wishes and the hilarious suggestions such as:

Dear Miss Mermaid,
Are you in the hospital trying to have a Little Miss Mermaid????

When I read that, I choked on my tea, I laughed so hard I thought my ribs would split! Then I coughed into a fit and my fingers turned blue and they plugged me back into oxygen and started up the IV's again.

I would LOVE to be here delivering a new Little Miss Mermaid, instead of this pure torture, but it just ain't happening, so sorry, but you MADE by day with your email!

It gives me something to dream about.... and certainly caused a conniption!

  1. Bonjour Miss Mermaid!

I read your post on torm Carib for ages! Even when I was working in the Maldives or Seychelles and did not have any worries about hurricanes. Just to have some good time!
Always wanted to write and never did!
Am now in Grenada- have no kitties at the moment as I lost my Arthur in Miami and still very very sad.
Please get better quickly and keep your sense of humor!
And where can we buy your book in this part of the Caribean?

  2. Dear Miss Mermaid...you don't know me, but last month I asked you to allow your cats to go hungry because you said that meant there would be no hurricane (or Himicanes).
My wife and I has spectacular seas and fair weather on our sail vacation to your paradise...

We are so sorry to hear about your illness, please know that we include you (and the cats) in our prayers...

Get well soon, we love your blogs.

  3. Dear Miss Mermaid,

You probably don't remember me, but some years ago we corresponded about Vidalia onions, and I told you how to raise some sweet onions without buying them from Georgia.

I've been following your exploits both in and out of hospital for some time now, and only just realized I could comment here. What can I say, I'm going to blame it on being old. My wife and I have been praying for you and thinking about you.

Please get well as soon as possible, we need your humor and wit to continue.

    Love and affection,

  6. Dear Miss Mermaid - I have followed all your posts on Storm Carribbean for years and it is my greatest desire to visit your lovely Island of Tortola - however here in rainy, dismal, Bolton England (near Manchester) it seems a dream too far. I am sorry to learn that you are unwell - please be assured of my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
