I am from PA. Just bought my first RV...class C...As far as storm...mini minor damage...blew over a some lattice and a bush ...that I repaird today. I know that I will not stay in FL if a hurricane made land fall near me...the wind was very scary. I'm up to September 2011 and loving it.

Town and State?
Manassas, Northern Virginia

What time and day is it?
Monday, 7:03 PM

Have you been shopping for the storm?
I didn't really need to. Just filled up my car with gas yesterday.

Have you prepped for the storm?
Yes

What did you do?
Yes. I removed or laid down things in my front and back yard before the fly away and hurt someone or something. Have plenty of flashlights and batteries. Crank radio and flashlight. Laptop and iPhone charged up. Have food in the house.

Tell us what is happening around you as Hurricane Sandy unfolds.
I did have to work today, but since I don't work for a greedy and thoughtless company, we closed up early before it got too bad. Opening tomorrow is iffy...we will see.
Right now I'm experiencing very powerful wind gusts that shake my townhouse wall even though I'm not in an end unit. My laptop is propped up against the wall and shaking every few minutes. Also when that happens I feel a cold draft across my hands on my keyboard. Weird, I thought my windows were airtight.
I'm not to worried about electricity going off. I have lived here since 1998 and the power has never gone off. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Wish I was fulltiming already...I'd have drove a few states inland by now. :)
Hugs to you and Harley
Tango
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1252979175886717995.post-75695360759367889932012-10-29T18:15:11.127-04:002012-10-29T18:15:11.127-04:00Thanks for reporting in!Thanks for reporting in!DearMissMermaidDotComhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04598961939363561237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1252979175886717995.post-19964976207044699562012-10-29T16:26:01.203-04:002012-10-29T16:26:01.203-04:00Virginia Beach, Va. We went while it had some wind gusts, and a slow drizzle, in the low 60's. Bought the last loaf of bread. ha ha!
Today, it is high 50's, some wind gusts, and a constant rain. Not a hurricane by any means, just a storm. Of course, it is up North where it should have the most impact.
We are warm and safe. Thank goodness. 16 year old son is working at KFC from 3pm to 8pm today.PamGnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1252979175886717995.post-3217955566494182962012-10-29T13:46:48.742-04:002012-10-29T13:46:48.742-04:0020 miles south of St Augustine, Florida all is sup...20 miles south of St Augustine, Florida all is super cold but sunny. 49F degrees last night in this part of Florida in October! Doggy and I were super cold. We want to hear from readers about Hurricane Sandy and how it impacts you before power and internet goes down.

Talked to old friends 3 blocks from the beach in New Hampshire, shocked to find they assume nothing will happen and therefore have done nothing to prepare for the storm as of Sunday night. Amazing! They have a home in Florida but chose to stay put 3 blocks from the beach on New Hampshire's tiny coastline. I hope they will be fine. But honestly I am rolling my eyes!
