It's Complicated (Movie with Meryl Streep, Alec Bladwin, Steve Martin)

Meryl Streep carries the show with Alec Baldwin playing a close second. This delightful comedy-drama is a fantastic movie, that makes you laugh yet seriously sympathize with the characters and the dilemmas they face. There's really nothing to cry about and thank goodness someone has finally figured out how to make an engaging movie without blood, guts, violence and profanity.

But there's sex, and we all like sex! The movie is adult themes, I couldn't imagine having to explain to a child some of the questions they might ask, while watching it,  so don't expect to have the little ones around when you view it.

Steve Martin plays an uncharacteristically serious role and of course he is a top notch actor that seems to be in true awe of Meryl Streep, both as her character and as an actress. Alec Baldwin is downright funny and not at all shy about showing us his middle-aged spread.  It's refreshing to see a real body instead of a pumped-up-on steroids action figure.

Meryl Streep can put such incredible realistic  life into any character that she plays, as if you might run into her and get drawn up into her role and totally forget she is an actress.

If you want some seriously fun entertainment, a movie that you'll be tempted to watch again and share with others, then by all means, dive into this wonderful film and have a blast.

Diabetic Foot Problem Prevention

Diabetic Foot Problem Prevention

Supplements can improve sensory function in hands and feet such as

Thiamine (Vitamin B-1)
Thiamine is yet another nutrient that is often deficient in diabetics. A deficiency is often seen in those with diabetic neuropathy. Neuropathy often responds to Thiamine supplements. In one study 80% of subjects improved while taking Thiamine supplements

Other names:                  Anurine, Aneurine, Thaminium
Best form to take:           Thiamine Hydrochloride (HCL)
Usual dosage:                30-100mg per day
Approximate cost:          Less than $10 per month
Other effects:                  Used to treat Alcoholism and Cirrhosis
Possible side effects:   Normalizes low blood pressure

Vitamin B-12
A vitamin B-12 deficiency is thought to be an important cause of diabetic neuropathy. Injections improved pain and numbness with no obvious side effects.

Other names:                  Cobalamins, Methyl cobalamin
Best form to take:           Capsules
Usual dosage:                25-1,000mcg per day
Approximate cost:          Less than $10 per month
Other effects:                  Mild insomnia with larger doses
Possible side effects:    Very few side effects other than mild stimulation

Vitamin C helps to accelerate healing of foot ulcers and other foot injuries and at the same time reduces inflammation of foot tissues. A vitamin C deficiency causes sugar metabolism problems. Diabetics are thought to suffer from elevated levels of oxidative stress which requires that the intake of antioxidants be increased. The smallest blood vessels (capillaries) suffer damage when vitamin C is deficient. Even a marginal deficiency can cause capillary damage. Vitamin C is absorbed into the lining of blood vessels where it acts to keep plaque from forming.
Other names:                  Ascorbic acid, Calcium Ascorbate
Best form to take:           Mixed forms that include Calcium Ascorbate
Usual dosage:                 500-1,000mg per day
Approximate cost:          $5 per month

Other effects:                   Widely used as an anti-aging nutrient and to
prevent heart disease and cancer. Also  reduces
                                          systolic blood pressure.

Possible side effects:     Can cause diarrhea in very large doses.
Vitamin C reduces the level of sorbitol, an alcohol of sugar, in tissues. Sorbitol accumulation has been implicated in the creation of a number of common diabetic complications including:
- Cataracts
- Blindness
- Nerve damage in the hands and feet

Speed up Your Computer

Speed up your start time:
For Windows XP & earlier versions
go to start menu
go to RUN
type msconfig
when that window pops up
Select the Startup Tab at the top
scroll through and uncheck all the programs you do NOT want to start when your computer starts, (nearly every programmer for some off reason insists his program start when your computer starts, this is completely annoying, unless it's a program you use every day
when you are done click OK)
it will ask you to restart your computer, but you don't have to right now, but when you do, put on your seatbelt and enjoy the speed!

Enjoy these FREE programs to speed up your computer:

Dear Dear Miss,
I've written this recommendation of your work to share with other LinkedIn users.

Details of the Recommendation: "Before satellite views, before facebook, linked-in, myspace, and around the time listservs existed, there lived a Mermaid - who provided invaluable eyewitness events of weather and earthquake reports for sailors, travelers and financiers of the Caribbean. She forewarned sailors of approaching hurricanes arriving and departing through out - which become known affectionately as the Coconut grapevine of the Caribbean - (see Most notably I remember reading cell phone text messages (late nineties) from the last available wireless networks as those who witnessed coconut cannonballs, in those far out places - the last reports / or alerts as major storms approached or departed. One report I remember - Hurricane Ivan as it approached the Caymans with Category 5 winds and not far away a USGS report of a 6.0 earthquake - as if those who stayed didn't have enough. Stormcarib provided insight into the before and after of what Disaster Recovery is all about, whether you are a sailor, a chef, traveler or banker - it pays to have a coconut grapevine / social network and to read DearMissMermaids stories!!"

The Magnificent River of Five Colors; Cano Cristales

The river shown
in the photographs is the Caño Cristales, which is
located near the town of La Macarena in Columbia, South America. The
river, world famous for its colourful display, has been called "the
river that ran away to paradise", "the most beautiful river in the
world" and "the river of five colours".
Colombia's wet season, the water flows fast and deep, obscuring
the bottom of the river and denying the mosses and algae that call the
river home the sun that they need. And during the dry season there is
not enough water to support the dazzling array of life in the river.
But during a brief span between the wet and dry seasons, when the water
level is just right, the many varieties of algae and moss bloom in a
dazzling display of colors. Blotches of amarillo, blue, green, black,
and red - and a thousand shades in between - coat the river.
The part of the
river where the colourful blooms occur is quite
isolated and is not accessible by road. Adventurous tourists can now
fly into La Macarena and then make their way to to the river site on
foot as part of guided tours. The site was effectively closed to
tourists for several years because of guerrilla activity in the region
along with concerns about the impact of unregulated tourist traffic.
However, the site was reopened to visitors in 2009.
So far, some
1,000 people have visited Caño Cristales, including around
100 foreign tourists.

The tours will
follow four clearly marked and authorized paths and one
is no longer permitted to stay overnight or cook, as this was ruining
the area previously.
