  6. So sorry to hear she passed, but I'm sure she's sailing the high seas with the wind in her hair and her spirit set free to be a positive force wherever she chooses to be. Will miss her upbeat attitude even when she was struggling so much with her health issues. I was hoping to get to Florida one day to have a chance to meet her in person. RIP dear Miss Mermaid, you will be missed.

  12. To Cynthia's sister... I was her next door neighbor here at Florilow Oaks RV Park and spent many, many hours with her. I am so sorry for your loss. I miss her terribly and sorely regret not having more time with her. The world lost one of it's finest citizens when she left us. I am grateful for the short time I did have to be her friend.

    2. Miss Mermiad was a very special person who we all came to know and love.

Cynthia Rose Keeton first came to my attention with her writing about Tortola on the Storm Carib website and I was hooked!
I followed her 'ups' and so, so many 'downs'. How many of us could survive all her problems and still keep smiling and sharing with the world??? We had the opportunity to spend some time with her a few years ago when we were traveling in the south and she was work/camping at a lake in South Carolina. Harley was the light of her life whose antics brought smiles to everyone.. 'pets are special people'. I hope that he has found another forever home.
I send my most sincere sympathy to Miss Mermaid's family. It was a pleasure getting to know her through her books and blogs.

    3. Thank you, B and T. I'm so happy you got to enjoy my sister's happy take on life. Harley passed away recently, so he and Miss Mermaid are with each other now, somewhere over the rainbow. Thank you again for your lovely words about her.

  13. Such sad news. I have been reading this for several days now. She shared so much of herself, it feels like we have lost a close friend. I so enjoyed her funny take on getting tech savvy. We lived in our 5th wheel for a couple years, till we decided to settle in Alabama. She not only shared her insight here, she was also on a RV site and gave lots of great advice to others. I will miss her. I am sorry for her family's loss, please accept my deepest condolences.

  14. My friend ...the beautiful mermaid... I will always remember our visits and calls. So much laughter and giggles and good food. I enjoyed having you visit and camp in my yard. I never knew someone with so many stories.... and the circus dog... what a hoot ! You were a bright spot in my life and I will sorely miss you. Now you are free to sail the seas again. Thanks for brightening my life.

  17. I followed your sister from the early 90's while I was living, boating and scuba diving in the Bahamas always wondering who she really was. Years later around 2009 I was living in Tortola and read "Hurricanes and Hangovers". I am still laughing. She was one of a kind. I finally met her in Tortola while she was preparing to move back to the U.S. and I am so happy to have had a chat with her. She taught us all life lessons with her daily posts. My sympathies to the family. RIP Rose. xo
