Icky Licky Sticky

My broken tailbone has made it hard for me to sit and type.

The past week I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about slippery slimy mold and how to get rid of it.

Even after a ton of hard scrubbing with bleach and mop and help from a beloved angel (a neighbor who was visiting when I slipped and fell) the mold is coming back. It keeps resurfacing in some areas.

Maddening!

The day after scrubbing... look how much came back to haunt the efforts. Some places are nearly white, others are surfacing with new icky stuff.

Life is goof.

I woke up alive and it was a beautiful gorgeous day on planet earth.

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. Bleach is good, and you can add household scrubbing powder, the old fashion dry stuff in a tube, like comet. First let the bleach soak in slowly keep adding more bleach till the pavement wont hold any more and its sitting on top. Then sprinkle with comet. Then scrub with the stiffest brush you have. I use a long handled one from Lowes, for srubbing decks.

If someone you know has a power washer that does a great job before and after the concrete is scrubbed.

Remember that what will kill mold will also kill your grass and plants. But when I had chickens I cleaned the coop inside this way and also the cement. It never hurt them to go back in once it was dry and aired out.

Sorry you hurt yourself, my daughter and I have slipped the same way going down our shaded and moss and mold covered walkway. Hope you feel better soon,

    Sandra

  2. When we were getting ready to sell the house we used a product called "Wet and Forget" that we bought at Home Depot to clean the cement and retaining walls that had a lot of black mold on them. You just spray it on with a pump pressure sprayer. It doesn't seem like there is any change at first, but eventually all the mold goes away and does not come back. Per gal it costs more than bleach, but it works much much better! Also you don't have to rinse or scrub and it won't bother the feet of animals if the walk across a treated area. "Wet and Forget" It took us over a year to get the house sold after I had used it and the mold never came back where I had sprayed it. In another area I had used bleach on some green algae and it did come back.

  3. Ran across this article. Don't know if it will help or not but am forwarding it on:

  5. Thinking about your mold at 4 in the morning. That's retirement for ya.

Anyway you are probably keeping Harley away from your mold area and from the things you have been applying. Pets are so sensitive and suck up their environment.
