In Loving Memory of Sebastian

I'm not writing much today, but sharing a few ecclectic pictures.
While leaving Dan Nicholas Park in North Carolina, Harley gives a one ear salute.
You can't photograph a Mermaid, but apparently you can snap her shadow.
The peach on steroids, Gaffney, South Carolina.
An artist has cleverly disguised the town's water tower.

Sebastian
My pooch and I were spending Thanksgiving 2010 with friends and their two dogs.
Harley was having the time of his puppy life, with two other canines to romp around with.
They played, chase, they played tag, they played keep away, they played tug-of-war.
They emptied out a box full of dog toys, dragging them all over the house and yard.
They dug holes then watered all the bushes and fertilized a few trees.
We enjoyed their lively  exuberant entertainment.
During a brief interlude, I snapped this picture of Sebastian.

Thanksgiving morning, when we woke up, Sebastian had inexplicably died in his sleep.
He was healthy and happy just the day before.
We've all been very sad.

Sebastian 2003-2010
You are well loved and sorely missed.
