Alligators Too

Speaking of Crocs..

I was riding my bicycle in Crooked River State Park in St Marys, Georgia with friends when I saw a crocodile at the edge of the road looking like he was about to leap across. Yikes! I sped up to get away from him. I like leather shoes, but not live ones nipping off my feet.

Then I decided to go back and try to snap a photo, but silly me, along came some volunteers in a golf cart, so I said "Be careful, there is an alligator in the road up there."

To my surprise, they sped up the road. One of the volunteers jumped out with a big broom and pushed it at the crock yelling at him. He dove down a storm drain and vanished. As we road up the volunteer pointed to the storm drain that ran under the road and tree line to a small lake. I rode over to check out the lake.

That faint bit of writing reads "Do not feed the gator". By the time one gets close enough to read the sign, the gator is staring at your tootsies.

Life is goof.

  1. Stay away from those crocodiles and gators. I just saw this on you tube the other day. Yikes!

  2. I had to watch your suggested video and I thought at first "This guy is an idiot, why isn't he backing up that truck and leaving the critter alone? Has he ever heard of the food chain?"

And then when the alligator ripped up his truck, I about peed my pants laughing so hard.

Of course, I don't like it if our insurance rates are high because the companies are paying for damages caused by fools like that.

Then again... WHAT was that pickup truck made of that an angry alligator could just rip off the front end?

On another note... I don't like YouTube's aggressive nature of insisting on playing the next few videos even though we don't ask it too. No wonder the internet is so overloaded... especially in RV parks.

  3. Glad you enjoyed it. Yup, they don't make vehicles like they used to. This guy is not the "sharpest knife in the drawer" and on the bottom of the food chain for sure. It wouldn't take much for the gator to rip his truck door off.

I get annoyed as well with the videos that try to grab us if we don't move fast enough.

Glad you've moved to a little safer territory -- hopefully. I looked up the park and it is lovely.
